J Berri aka Nya Thryce was born on April 28,1984 in Bronx, New York - until the age of 13 when her family moved to Orlando.
She was raised in a family of musical people; her father, brother and cousin all artists in their own right. Nya recalls that the work her dad did as a deejay had strongly impressed her from a young age and in addition her cousin Bobby (B-Dope) rhymed, which had also effected her interest in music. Nya's earliest musical influences were Queen Latifah, Salt n Pepa, Nas, D-train, Evelyn King, Krs-one, Wu Tang Clan and sade..
She began writing and rapping in her teenage years, connecting with local artists as well as online, particularly after her work was displayed on the music site 'soundclick', where she was becoming noticed by regular listeners, and gradually built a network of contacts, collaborating with many skilled artists along the way.
Artists and producers such as Donna Hunt, Chris Morale, Fadaze,Rocko Stedy, Marcus Prhyme, Wyze Intellect, dCycha,Nu-Aira, Tone Spliff, Sincere Vega, Double P(PPR), 8-bza, Dama Nilz, Nasty Nyne, Black Collar Biz, Lady Movemint, Jesus Sparks, Annarchy Allure, and many many more.
Through her cousin (B-Dope) she linked up with Chrismorale in 2000, who in turn introduced her to Donna Hunt and Chris's cousin Fadaze in 2006. She began to focus not only on continuing to build her skills, but on working to develope the MaDD PpuLL empire, setting up the MaDD PpuLL website and running The Chrismorale Experience chatroom.
The future looks promising for this highly skilled, intuitive, fyreful MC/engineer, who not only has phenomenal talent but has an excellent business mind too. Mz Thryce has recently returned to New York to work more closely with her team..so watch this space..Nya Thryce is in da house fa sho!!!
